The traditional Silhouette art has charmed us for centuries, it is compellent even though it uses just some black-and-white images.  And now with the LED strips light, this black shade can get much further, lively and colorful.

This Silhouette piece of a couple of lovers is three dimensional attached to mulberry paper. Flexible RGB LED strips were coated around the poster frame inside. This art picture is absolutely unique, it jumps out of the wall and gives the room a nice atmosphere that can be controlled by changing into different color. Moreover, LED strips are bright, durable and environmentally friendly. It is definitely a good choice to make this Silhouette art as a lovers gift!

LED strips are easy and fun to use, check out project by John Cohn. He wrote on Instructable.com showing us how to make this fantastic color changing RGB LED strips headband. As John points out, this LED strips headband required very little external hardware. For girls, you can even just take any headband you have in your casket then place the LED strips on.

Well, it’s cool stuff to catch people’s attention at party or clubs, but John has been wearing one of these LED strips headbands for two years whenever he goes out , he even wear it at conferences and schools.

Since cabin, anchor and navigation lights all credit a big draw on a boat’s batteries, cruising sailors have learned not to use those kind of lights as to reserve more battery for other more important uses and to avoid their batteries dying promptly. However, LED lights provide a solution for this situation. LED light can be a perfect alternative to regular light, providing a brigther light and allowing to extend battery life, which is great for our sailor friends.

While many sailors has already replaced their cabin lights with LED bulbs, this boat owner’s had the idea of  installing more affordable LED Strip lights instead. To complete this project he required a few tools and a short length of LED strip light. He first removed the bulb out of  the current light fixture, since the LED strip’s already attached with adhesive tapes on the back, he could easily mount it in the interior of the light fixture. With just some easy steps of wiring, the cabin light with LED strips was finished and the result is even better than when using LED bulbs.
The sailor has made a before-and-after comparision on this project and he was pleased with the brighter light perfomed by LED strips. So DIY lights using LED strips prove one more to be bright, affordable and perfect for energy saving.

Thanks to known designer Janet Hansen, brides now have more choices on their wedding dress options. If you are bored with tradition and enjoy being the center of attention this dress is for you.
This unique wedding dress displays messages such as “I LOVE YOU” in five languages using surface-mounted LEDs on flexible circuit boards placed  on top of the dress.  Four additional strips of LED lights on the skirt end repeat the message in four other languages.

These pieces of wearable wedding dresses were presented in several international exhibitions together with the illuminated groom coveralls, hats, vest and jackets.

Have you ever seen customized cars and asked yourself how could you do it? You don’t need to change your car completely, some people want radical changes and appearance while others preffer subtle improvements. It depends totally on your style and personality. In any case, it seems pretty clear that for any lighting related improvement, the use of LED strip lighting is the leading trend.

Here is a good example of a subtle improvement. This member on VWvortex forum, who is an enthusiast about cars, created a simple but elegant DIY project using LED strip light on the bumper.
The project literally took no more than 2 hours to finish on both sides of the bumpers. All in all, this project was inexpensive and very easy to do, but the results are great since LED strips are durable and bright enough for daytime use.

No surprise to know that this members friends have started to copy his project. Meanwhile it seems he wants to continue experimenting with more LED’s on the other parts of his car.

Here’s another easy-to-follow artwork , a website about gear showed a home-made band logo using LED strips light.
The band logo was made of wood with an arched handle on top. The band’s name and a piece of guitar pattern was carved in the middle. The LED strips were cut into different lengths and installed at the back side of the wood logo.

Thanks to the flexibility of LED strips, although the pattern of guitar was carved intricately, it could still be easily bent and wrapped around the logo, and with the adhesive tape at the back , it  firmly stuck on  the wood material.

We can safely call him a prodigy because from design to construction, he has done the entire installation of the theater on its own. The theater has 5 seats with a stage behind it. He decided to use the carpets, curtains and panels all in blue color. For the LED strip lights he also chose blue light so that the whole theater looked in perfect harmony.

The LED strip lights were used for the step illumination. He had also created a starred sky with blue lights in the ceiling.

This installation has not only impressed us but it has also captivated members on AVSforum. Even though not everyone can have such a home theater, it gave the members fresh ideas for using LED strips lighting for their homes.

Star Wars is one of the most successful movie franchises in history, so it is not a surprise that once more we bumped into a project based on this famous story.  And of course, once again it’s the Millennium Falcon spacecraft – we all dreamed about this when we were kids – so it is normal that some Star Wars fans create DIY projects to show their enthusiasm.

As you may remember, in one of our previous posts, we introduced a Star Wars Millennium Falcon Bed which could appeal to many fans. If that was too much for you, maybe you can consider this project which in principle, is relatively easier to do. Simon Hadyn – an amateur model toys engineer, has just simply taken an old Millennium Falcon toy and fitted it with LED Strips lights. He removed most of the interior in the toy to make way for the LED lighting system, with RGB LED strips attached in the Falcon engines the color can be changed according to your mood by a small remote control.

Ever since LED strips lighting gained popularity in the market, we have been seeing LED strips projects on many different applications. This LED DIY project has definitely captured our attention.

Jerry, the hobbyist of N scale has experience with  planning, creating and building an N Scale layout. Lately, he began to build an interesting urban layout in a complete fantasy LED light setting.  He focused most of the light on a mold of a hotel, its rooftop and its outdoor elevator using some LED’s.  For lighting the interior of the hotel he used LED strips lights, which he found out was the easiest part to install of all, as they are flexible and can be easily twisted around in this tiny model kit.

Although the N scale is kind of incomplete as Jerry still needs to attach a few more features for the whole layout, one thing for sure, the LED strips have already contributed to make this an outstanding project.

For sure you have already seen how LED strips can make cars glow, so… what about Motorbikes?

Once again there is another cool project on Instructable.com. Member Corkey123 has posted a project guide for adding accent light using LED strips on the motorbike. He had already tried LED products for his bike before but this time he decided to try out with LED strip lights. According to Corkey123, he has used 3 strips of waterproof LED strips in purple color. Two of the LED strips were installed inside the fairing so as to illuminate the glossy black frame. The other LED strip was installed under the tail to illuminate the rear tire.

The result is cool! Now you know,  if you own a bike all you need are just a few Waterproof LED Strips to make it happen!
